What is Northride?
Northride brings the ride to work scheme to New Zealand in a way that is practical, accessible and easy to understand.
They offer a tax-efficient bike benefit that allows employees to get a new bike and pay for it over time through salary sacrifice. The goal is simple. Make cycling more affordable, reduce car use, and give employers a benefit that genuinely supports wellbeing and sustainability.
How it works
- Sign up to Northride - Create an account to their user app.
- Request Access to the bike scheme - Request access to your employers bike scheme once your employer is set up into their app.
- Get to know the terms - There’s lots of help at hand to get you set-up as quickly as possible. You’ll accept the terms and agree to use the bike for commuting more than 50% of the time.
- Choose the bike - Choose and collect your bike from one of our local bike partners - they are on hand to guide you on which bike is the best for your individual needs.
- Save up to 40% - Ride away happy having saved 15-40% on your bike.
- At the end of the scheme - Return or keep the bike at the end of your 24 month scheme.
How much can you save?
The amount you save depends on your salary and the value of the bike you choose. Because payments are made through salary sacrifice, they are structured in a tax-efficient way. This can reduce the total cost compared to paying upfront or using a credit card.
